New Year's Eve Rewind

2014

1:35 A.M. The night was eventful. There was ping pong, video games, and all the liquor a non-alcoholic can ask for. But it was time to go home.

1:27 A.M. Just one glass of black label. For the road.

1:01 A.M. Everybody's wondering who will be first to start the "it's getting late" party.

12:39 A.M. A kid starts talking to me about "Saving Mr. Banks". I haven't seen it, kid-- does Disney kill Smaug in the end?

12:12 A.M. I'm glad we're all here tonight. We may not all know each other by name, but I'm thinking that's what family gatherings are all about.

12:01 A.M. See? We're wishing one another a Happy New Year via hug. Now would probably be a horrible time to ask you for your name.

12:00 A.M. It's pretty loud up in here.

11:59 P.M. SHUT THE HELL UP AND KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE COUNTDOWN!

11:48 P.M. Where's my cousin?

11:39 P.M. We're cousins?

11:25 P.M. New Super Mario Brothers!

11:07 P.M. Ping pong?... okay, one round.

10:56 P.M. Just one more glass of wine-- DON'T MIX TONIGHT!

10:24 P.M. How many glasses is that? Not nearly enough.

10:03 P.M. God, 2013 sucked.

9:30  P.M. Is it 2014, yet?

9:19  P.M  Come on.

9:01  P.M. We're here!

8:50  P.M. We're almost there!

8:32  P.M. I'll be 25 in less than a week! But good God-- how? It seems like just weeks ago I was 22, working in Anaheim, 18, taking in my first semester in college, 13, visiting Las Vegas (which was surprisingly fun even then). What black hole has sucked up the years?

I recently stumbled upon this quote:

"Isn't it funny how day by day, nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different..." -C.S. Lewis

8:05  P.M. Hurry up, we're going to be late!
